“These beautiful days must enrich all my life. They do not exist as mere pictures– maps hung upon the walls of memory to brighten at times when touched by association or will, only to sink again like a landscape in the dark; but they saturate themselves into every part of the body and live always.”
I have always loved this picture because I remember how I felt that day, on top of Sentinel Dome in Yosemite National Park at the tender age of 23. I felt free. I felt full– full of life, beauty, love. It was a day spent sauntering with my soulmate, sharing our love for Nature in one of Earth’s most beautiful places. It was a day that fed my soul, saturated my being, so that I can look at this mere photograph and feel what I felt that day.
