I just love the outdoors. Nature. And how it makes me feel– alive, connected, happy, peaceful, strong. Nature feeds my soul. I think it is so important for everyone to spend time outdoors and develop a love for nature too (or at least an appreciation)… for adults and kids alike to spend time in nature– unplugged, un-distracted– for your mind to wander, dreams to form and grow– away from the “everyday” so thoughts and ideas can flow without interruption.
I want to inspire you to spend time immersed in nature’s beauty, to experience nature and all it has to offer– so you can grow… so you can understand your deeper connection to your fellow travelers, to your self, and to the earth.
I L-O-V-E love camping, hiking, backpacking, bike riding, and just getting out of town and getting fully immersed in nature. I have been enjoying outdoorsy vacations for the past 20+ years with my then boyfriend now husband and our usually enthusiastic daughter. I have been on countless camping trips and hikes across the U.S., and I have been backpacking in Yosemite National Park, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Western North Carolina. We took our daughter on her first camping trip when she was 18 months old and have tried to instill within her a deep and lasting love of nature. I believe it is never too early to introduce your kids to Nature.
I want you to enjoy spending time immersed in nature’s beauty– hiking and backpacking, camping, and sauntering. So use the knowledge I have gained over the years to make your travels in nature easy and memorable.
The important thing is to take the time to feel the feelings nature is trying to convey to you. Open your heart and your mind and I promise you will learn something about life, about yourself, about your place on this beautiful, grand Earth.
